Farnese vini-selle italia

The team Farnese Vini-Selle Italia is a British cycling team created in 2008 by two companies of the steel industry: the Ukrainian ISD, and the Italian Danieli. Later it took the name of ISD cycling team. Among the sports directors there were three former pro cyclists: Luca Scinto, Alberto Elli and Mario Cipollini. The team came out in 2009 with a group of cyclists such as Giovanni Visconti, Dario David Cioni or Oscar Gatto, who win a stage in the Tour of Sardinia giving to the team its very first success.
At the end of 2010, the sponsor ISD leaves the team to become part of Lampre and absorbed the Farnese Vini and consequently the name changed. In 2011 Giovanni Visconti moved to Movistar leaving a team of athletes such as Guardini (the man who gained 11 victories in 2011), Gatto, Favilli and Rabottini.
The new sponsor Selle Italia joined the team during the 2012 season. The team is made up of three captains: Filippo Pozzato, Oscar Gatto and Andrea Guardini.
Andrea Guardini, an excellent sprinter, became professional in 2011 and won in Qatar, Turkey, Slovenia, Portugal and in the Giro di Padania race. He won also several stages in the Tour of Langkawi in Malaysia and the eighteenth stage of the 2012 Giro d'Italia.
Filippo Pozzato becomes part of the team in 2012; he's a long-distance rider who won the Milan-San Remo in 2006 and two stages in the Tour de France. Pozzato became professional and he entered the Mapei-Quick Step group and then switched to Katusha from 2009 to 2011.
Oscar Gatto was one of the best amateurs of the season 2006 and gained 13 victories. In 2007 he started riding for the Gerosteiner team; later he moved to the ISD-Danieli's.
In the year 2012 a new cyclist stands out: Matteo Rabottini, the son of the professional cyclist of the 80s Luciano Rabottini. Matteo began to ride as a professional from 2011; in the same year he won the fifth stage of the Tour of Turkey. In 2012 he cut the tape of the fifteenth stage of Giro d'Italia in Pian dei Resinelli, getting the best score of the rankings.
